The Lincolnshire Volunteer Card gets a 10 from Len!

Len Reeder photo 3Congratulations to Leonard Reeder of Alford, who received a certificate and gift voucher as the 30th learner to successfully complete Lincolnshire Volunteer Card training during June! The Award was presented by Karen Parsons, Director of Children’s Links, in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of National Volunteers Week.

Len has been volunteering for over 20 years, supporting his local community in a wide variety of roles. Pictured with Len and Karen is Alan Gurbutt, Chair of the Alford PPG, which Len currently supports. Len is also a befriender for Lincoln and Lindsey Blind Society, in addition to his work within the community as a Dementia Friend.

With a wealth of experience of volunteering, Len undertook the training as “when approaching other charities I wanted them to see I’m serious about helping others”. He was delighted to meet learners of diverse ages and backgrounds on the course as he felt that “such a variety of people confirming what they think and believe to each other can only strengthen their self-esteem. It’s courses like these that help people gain confidence and become very useful members of society.”

All Lincolnshire residents aged 16 and over can access FREE Lincolnshire Volunteer Card training. Registration is simple – just call us on 0845 373 0645 or email lvc@childrenslinks.org.uk with your name, current volunteering role (if applicable) and details of where you would like to access training.
