Join Volunteer Celebration Day

Showcase the work of your organisation for free and reward your volunteers

Organisations that involve volunteers are urged to take advantage of a free stand at the Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) Volunteer Celebration Day event.
The day is a chance to shout about what your organisation does and encourage others to get involved.
The event, coinciding with Volunteers’ Week, will be held on Friday, June 5, 11am to 5pm and is being kindly hosted by Fantasy Island, Ingoldmells, which attracts thousands of visitors every day.
For the general public the event is an opportunity to speak to volunteers about their activities and how it benefits not only their communities but the volunteers themselves.
David Fannin, LCVS chief executive, said: “At LCVS day-in, day-out we see how vital volunteers are to our communities. But what those who don’t volunteer sometimes don’t realise are the potential benefits for individuals.
“As we know, volunteering can be a platform to employment,  a chance to be involved in a sector they wouldn’t otherwise be able to access, an opportunity to build confidence,  gain skills and widen their social circle. Above all it is a chance to make a difference – to themselves and others.
“This event is about recognising volunteers, showing appreciation for all they do and enticing others to think about getting involved.”
All volunteers who register with LCVS in advance of the day will be eligible for discounted ride wristbands and free parking, courtesy of Fantasy Island.
To register as a volunteer send your name and the name of the organisation you volunteer with, before midday on Thursday, June 4, to: jody.r@lincolnshirecvs.org.uk or call Jody on 01205 365588.
