Halifax team challenge at Hartsholme Cricket Club

Volunteering HCCA team from the Halifax Lincoln office undertook a team challenge at Hartsholme Cricket Club on Sunday 17 August, organised by Voluntary Centre Services, Lincoln. They cleared greenery and debris from the car park area, making access easier for club supporters, members and players and even got to enjoy a little cricket, as the Hartsholme CC first eleven played a match. They also learned more about the Club and its activities, including the excellent work it does to get young people and families involved in sport.

Dan Sharkey from the Halifax said:

There’s a lot to do at the ground and although we can’t do it all in just one day, what we have done is making a difference and we’ve enjoyed ourselves”. He added “I would strongly encourage more people generally to take part in volunteering as it is very rewarding and from a work point of view very good for team building.

Another member of the team said

Ian has made us very welcome and we have enjoyed our day.

Ian Dovey, Manager at the Cricket Club said:

The groups of people we are sent make a huge difference to us, as we maintain the grounds. The Club is very busy at this time of year, but even on one of our busiest days, with a match on, we can find time to support a team like this.

Thanks again to: Dan, Ash, Craig, Hayley and Sara, for giving up a Sunday in August, to donate time and effort to a good cause.
